AN UNDER-10s football team are celebrating after opticians stepped in to sponsor them for the upcoming season.

Specsavers Redditch Alvechurch, in Sainsbury’s on Alvechurch Highway, are supporting the Redditch Borough under-10s team with new home and training kits.

After riding high in their first season in the Central Warwickshire Youth Football League back in 2021, and winning the spring trophy, the team are setting their sights on another successful season.

"It’s important to us that we help our local community and we are delighted to be supporting the team," says Sarah Wright, store director at Specsavers Redditch Alvechurch.

"It’s great to be involved with grass-roots football and we are all looking forward to watching the team continue to develop over the next season.

"It was brilliant to give the team their new kits and we know they will get a lot of use out of them when the new season kicks off."

Matt Hartles, team manager of Redditch Borough under-10s team, adds: "It's fantastic that Specsavers kindly agreed to sponsor our home kits and training gear.

"Without the support of local businesses, grassroots football would be unsustainable so we’re really grateful for the support. The team is looking forward to wearing the kit with pride and showing off the Specsavers logo far and wide".
