A REDDITCH athlete has won gold at the Special Olympics World Games.

Rhiannon Evans, from Redditch, who represents Special Olympics West Midlands Golf, competed in the golf event on Wednesday, June 21.

The Special Olympics, which was held in Berlin this year, from June 17 to June 25, welcomed 7,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities competing across 26 sports.
