A major donation drive has been launched by volunteers from the Polish community in Redditch to help Ukrainians who have sought refuge in neighbouring countries.

Katarzyna Tuchowska-Zysk said she has been inundated with phone calls since the campaign was launched.

She said: “There are already people who have come across to Poland with nothing with them. We want to collect as much as possible and transport it straight across to Poland.”

Donations can be left at Unit 6, Phoenix Works, Windsor Road and items in demand include toiletries and warm clothing.
