A PENSIONER has been airlifted to hospital in a "serious condition" after a collision with a lorry.

The man, who is in his 70s, was injured on Chapel Lane, Ullenhall, at 9.00am on Tuesday, January 30.

An ambulance, a paramedic officer, a local community first responder and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “When ambulance crews arrived they found a pedestrian, a man in his 70s, who had been involved in a collision with a lorry.

“Upon assessment, it quickly became apparent that he had sustained multiple injuries and was in a serious condition. Ambulance crews and the doctor worked as a team to treat the man, which included administering advanced pain relief, wound dressing and immobilisation, before he was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency treatment.”
