POLICE in Alcester are appealing for information after a gang of scooting-riding crooks stole a motorcycle parked at Oversley Mill Service Station.

The incident took place in McDonald's car park at about 6.15pm on Wednesday, June 7 when thieves cut the lock off a motorcycle and after broke the steering lock.

At 7pm a police patrol came across the stolen motorcycle in Kings Coughton and at the same time three scooters made off from police along the A435 towards Studley.

Each scooter had two passengers and are all believed to be involved in the theft.

It is thought that some of the riders may have been carrying their helmets as they drove away.

A member of the public later reported that a scooter had been abandoned in Marble Alley by the Co-Op in Studley.

Anyone witnessing the theft, the scooters parked by Broadlane Caravans in Kings Coughton or the three scooters driving erratically in Studley are asked to contact the Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101.
