A REDDITCH pervert secretly filmed a woman on the toilet, under a schoolgirl's skirt and downloaded indecent images of children, including one showing a rape.

Paul Dixon admitted two counts of voyeurism and one of making indecent images of children when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Friday, May 12.

The 48-year-old admitted the offences at Redditch Magistrates Court after initially entering not guilty pleas, changing his plea two days before the trial.

Lal Amarasinghe, prosecuting, said police received information to indicate indecent images of children had been downloaded at an address in Redditch.

They attended that address on March 22 last year at 7am when a number of desktop computers, tablets and mobile phones were seized for analysis.

He was interviewed without legal representation where he accepted the IP address was his. He denied knowing anything about indecent images of children but admitted downloading adult pornography.

Dixon later confessed he had only downloaded the indecent images of children 'out of curiosity' between January and March last year and had viewed them but deleted them immediately.

There were five indecent images, one at category A (the most serious kind).

The counts of voyeurism involved hiding a camera in a bathroom to film a woman on the toilet and another recording where he had filmed underneath a schoolgirl's skirt.

During an interview on January 9 Dixon replied 'no comment' to police questions in relation to the voyeurism.

Jennifer Josephs, defending, said there were only five indecent images of children in total when compared to other cases where there were hundreds or even thousands.

Miss Josephs said: "He has been identified as being at a low risk of reoffending.

He's in a lower risk group than around 83 per cent of sexual offenders.

"He's living with his mother and is a carer for her. She is unwell. It would be difficult for her were he to be remanded."

She said he worked as a window cleaner.

Judge Nicolas Cartwright, sentencing, said: "It might be that when you created these images you simply thought this was an image. The reality is that behind the image there's a real child somewhere in the world being abused.

"You have children. This is someone's child who was raped for the sexual gratification of the people who want these images. It is the demand for these images which drives the supply."

He said the voyeurism footage was shot up a girl's skirt and he had kept the film rather than deleting it while another showed a woman on the toilet.

Judge Cartwright handed Dixon a two year community order to include 30 days of rehabilitation activity. He must also complete 70 hours of unpaid work.

He must register as a sex offender for five years and pay costs of £375.

A sexual harm prevention order was also made which prohibits Dixon, a window cleaner whose address was given as Foxlydiate Crescent, from having contact with children under 16 other than in the course of daily life.

He is also prohibited from using a device capable of accessing the internet unless it displays the internet search history and must make it available to a police officer on request.

The order further prohibits him from having any 'anti-forensic software' on any device or computer and from deleting his internet search history.

He must also complete one-to-one 'maps for change' programme to reduce his offending.

The devices containing the images will be destroyed by order of the court.
