A SPECIAL meeting to bring together and support Redditch businesses has been cancelled.
The Business Leaders’ Meeting had been arranged by outgoing Redditch MP Karen Lumley but will not go ahead following her decision to stand down and the announcement of the General Election.
Mr Lumley, who is currently severely ill in hospital, made the decision to no longer stand for re-election at the end of April.
The meeting had been scheduled to be held at Thorlux Lighting on Friday, June 23.
Speaking directly to those involved in the meetings, a spokesman for Mrs Lumley said: "On behalf of Karen, I would like thank you most sincerely for all your help and support, I know that she has thoroughly enjoyed meeting and being a part of the Redditch and Worcestershire Business Community. She would also like to wish you all the very best for the future."
