FIREFIGHTERS helped to release an injured man following a crash between a car and a van in Redditch.
Emergency services were called to the scene at the junction of Coldfield and Headless Cross Drive, shortly before midnight last night (Thursday, April 28).
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) crews from Redditch released one casualty.
One ambulance from West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene.
A spokesman said: "Two occupants were out of the vehicles upon arrival, both were assessed but didn’t require hospital treatment and were discharged from scene.
"A third patient, the driver of one car, was trapped and had to be extricated by the fire service.
"The man was assessed and was found to have severe leg pain.
"Ambulance staff administered pain relief to help stabilise his condition before he was fully immobilised and taken to the Alexandra Hospital in Woodrow Drive for further care."
