MORE than 100 people enjoyed a trip to the seaside thanks to Redditch County Councillor Pattie Hill.

The councillor, for Arrow Valley West, funded a trip to Weston-super-Mare for families in Redditch who access Early Help Services.

The trip saw nearly 150 children, staff and parents (aboard three 53-seater coaches) from going to the seaside for the day.

Cllr Hill, who also gave the children buckets and spades, said: "I am delighted to fund this trip to Weston.

"Every child should be able to experience one of our traditions, such as sandcastles, donkey rides, visiting a funfair or paddling in the sea. I really hope everyone had a great day."

Louise Hall, Early Help Community Co-ordinator said: “We are thankful and very lucky in Redditch to have such great support from Cllr Pattie Hill. This trip allowed so many families in Redditch to spend quality time together and have fun."

Cllr Marc Bayliss, Worcestershire County Council cabinet member with responsibility for children and families added: "It is wonderful that Cllr Hill funded this trip for users of the Early Help Service, many of whom don't have the means to enjoy day trips to the seaside.

"I hear the day was enjoyed by all and Cllr Hill has received several messages thanking her for giving guests a lovely day."
