PUPILS from St Mary’s CofE Academy in Studley recently held a special event to raise cash for Cancer Research UK.
The event, as part of Race for Life’s schools programme, saw more than 200 youngsters join forces with teachers and teaching assistants to walk, jog or run 3K in aid of the charity's life-saving work.
Elaine Davis, head of PE at the school, said: “Race for Life has been a great addition to the school timetable. We have all had a fantastic time taking part whilst raising money for a seriously good cause.
"Most of us know someone who has been touched by cancer and we all have our special reasons for taking part and wanting to help more people survive.”
The school is hoping to raise £1,000 for the charity.
