RESIDENTS are being invited to a charity night at the Duck Inn in Oakenshaw this Friday, October 16.

The event, from 7pm onwards, is free entry and includes pool and poker games, karaoke, a sponsored head and leg wax and a raffle and auction for two Aston Villa tickets in a private box with four course luxury meal and complimentary drinks.

All money raised will go toward Breast Cancer Care which runs a number of vital support services such as the charity’s helpline, online forum, information points in hospitals and face to face services for anyone facing breast cancer, as well as their friends and family.

It is being organised by Leeann Wallace, who has been fighting breast cancer for the last five months and wanted to give something back.

Alec Raven, from the charity said: “Every year in the UK, 55,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer. We want to be there for each and every one of them.

“That is why we’re so grateful to Leeann for all the hard work she has put in to organising this event. The funds raised will help Breast Cancer Care make a huge difference to the lives of thousands of women waking up to the harsh reality of breast cancer every day."
