PROSPECTIVE engineers are being invited join a free brand-new training scheme at a Redditch design and manufacturing company.

Heartbeat UK, a design and manufacturing company specialising in retail display innovation, is starting a 16-week programme provide introductory skills and work experience in the engineering field to people aged 16 to 24.

A series of open days, held recently, gave interested youngsters an opportunity to meet the team and get a taster of the programme.

The course which is running from the Arthur Street site, has 15 places still available, and there will be progression opportunities and full apprenticeships available in the company.

A spokesman for Heartbeat UK said: “We are delighted with the open day and still have opportunities available for anyone interested aged 16 to 24 to gain valuable skills and experiences to help prepare them for a career in engineering.

“We are proud to be offering these opportunities for young adults to gain valuable skills needed to further their aspirations and career aims in the industry.

“Our aim is to provide young adults with the first steps to a career in engineering - by offering ongoing qualifications and work based training.”
