REDDITCH MP Karen Lumley has been appointed as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Minister of State for Community and Social Care at the Department of Health.
A delighted Mrs Lumley said she was looking forward to the new role and working alongside Minister of State for Community and Social Care at the Department of Health Alistair Burt.
The role of a Parliamentary Private Secretary is to act as the minister's contact with MPs and does not have an additional salary.
MPs selected for the positions are chosen by a senior minister in government or a shadow minister.
Mrs Lumley is visiting the Alexandra Hospital today, Friday, May 5 to meet with staff and health bosses.
