A REDDITCH beauty is in the finals of the Miss Birmingham competition.

Molly Noke, in her first year of sixth form at Tudor Grange Academy, was asked to audition after being spotted at The Clothes Show in Birmingham.

After applying, the 16-year-old made the interview stage, only available to 80 out of more than 600 applicants.

She spoke with the previous Miss Birmingham and was interviewed by judges before being told she had made the final 40.

Molly, said: "It was such a shock as it was so unexpected.

"Entering a competition like this was something I had never considered before, but when I got approached at The Clothes Show I thought that I might as well take the opportunity."

The competition is looking for an ambassador for the city, to promote it as well as take part in parades, community events and festivals.

It is also raising vital cash for Beauty With A Purpose, a charity which gives young women the opportunity to use their abilities to make a lasting contributions to sick and disadvantaged people.

Molly added: "I am excited and nervous for the finals as it's all new to me. So far it is not what I expected, Miss Birmingham is centred around helping the community and raising money for charity.

"I can't wait until the finals."

The finals are being held at the Burlington Hotel in Birmingham on March 15.
