ALCESTER Town Netball Club is appealing for funding to build an all weather pitch.

Chairman Alison Clarke set up the group around six-years-ago and the team now has around 60 players aged 11 and up.

Alison said: “Our dream is to be able to run our own netball league and we would welcome players from Stratford and Redditch.

Ideally we need two courts, it would be great to have four courts, as we could up build the league up.”

The team plans to raise money by holding a 12 hour netball-a-thon challenge.

The team have been speaking to Alcester Town Football Club to establish if the two sports clubs could team up on the venture.

Members train at Alcester Grammar School on Wednesdays from 6 till 8pm, due to the lack of courts youths play 6 to 7pm and adults 7 to 8pm.
