PUPILS at RSA Academy Arrow Vale recently got the chance to quiz the town's MP.
Redditch MP Karen Lumley visited the school with West Midlands MEP Anthea McIntyre, employment spokesman for the Conservatives in the European Parliament.
The aim was to encourage young people to take an interest in politics.
Mrs Lumley said: “I was pleased to take part in the Q&A with students at Arrow Vale. There were some very challenging questions on a wide range of issues.
"While those now under 17 won’t get the opportunity to vote in the general election, it is important that we get young people interested in current affairs before they can vote, particularly because of the low turnout of 18 to 24-year-olds at elections.
"Having spent the morning being questioned by Arrow Vale pupils I’m pleased to report that there were a significant number of young people with the ambition and enthusiasm to make a difference in their communities.”
