A GROUP of community-spirited volunteers in Alcester teamed up for their autumn ‘Big Tidy Up’ on Sunday, September 7.
Volunteers aged from six to more than 90, helped out during the clear up morning.
Various representatives from Alcester Civic Society, Alcester Town Council, Alcester Court Leet and Alcester McDonalds also took part.
Litter Free Alcester, whose aim is to keep Alcester clean, tidy and litter free, met at the Jubilee Centre alongside the Jubilee Fields near St Faiths Road.
Following the Court Leet Fun Day on Saturday, September 6 the helpers cleaned the streets and open spaces including the area around the Hopkins Precinct.
The litter pick finished at the Jubilee Centre at noon and during the two hour session 14 large bags of litter were collected from the Alcester’s play areas, green open spaces, car parks and surrounding streets.
The group is supported by Alcester Town Council, Stratford on Avon District Council and the Rotary Club of Alcester Alauna.
