WYTHALL residents, library users, local community groups and organisations are being asked by Worcestershire County Council to comment on the council's proposals to relocate Wythall Library to a new build community hub at Woodrush Academy from September 2015.

The consultation is taking place until September 20.

Anyone wishing to give feedback can complete an online questionnaire at worcestershire.gov.uk/wythall-library; complete a paper copy of the questionnaire, available in Wythall Library and the parish council office or go and talk to the libraries and learning services senior staff who will be at Wythall Library on Wednesday, September 10 from 2pm until 7pm.

At a meeting at County Hall on July 17, proposals were approved to progress with plans in Wythall for a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Wythall Together) to take on responsibility for the premises management and internal maintenance and repair. The library service will continue to be run by the county council.

The longer term aspiration is for the library to relocate and become part of Woodrush High School's plans to create a community hub within the new build being proposed on the existing school site.

Councillor Lucy Hodgson, county council cabinet member for localism and communities, said: "The proposals for Wythall Library are part of the re-modelling programme that Worcestershire County Council's libraries and learning service has been progressing since 2011. So much of the success of this programme comes from working with our local communities on the future of our libraries, which is why it is so important for us to hear what residents, customers and community groups think about the proposals."

Customers of the county council's mobile library are also being asked to comment on the proposals for change to the vehicles routes and stopping off points.

The consultation agreed at the council's cabinet meeting on July 17 will run until October 31.

Customers using the mobile library service can feedback their views by completing an online questionnaire at worcestershire.gov.uk/librariesandlearning, completing a hard copy of the questionnaire available from the mobile library or from any library, or talk to senior staff from the libraries and learning services team on the mobile when it tours the county at the end of September.

All of the responses received during the consultation period will be taken into account before any changes are made to the mobile library service.

During the consultation period, all customers currently using the Library Service At Home will also be contacted directly by staff to discuss future planned changes to their service too.
