AS part of its ongoing work with Carers Careline, Home Instead is holding a final dementia training session at the Ecumenical Centre on Tuesday, June 24 between 10.30am-12.30pm and repeated between 1.30pm-3.30pm.
The theme of this session will be Techniques to Handle Challenging Behaviours.
The sessions are open to both carers already registered with Carers Careline as well as any member of the public who are in some way affected by dementia.
When family members must take on the role of being the main carer they can often become overwhelmed, physically and mentally with the uncertainties and pressures of caring for a loved one.
This particular session aims to arm family carers and others in the community with effective techniques for managing the many different and sometimes challenging behaviours associated with dementia including refusal, delusions, aggression, false accusations, wandering and agitation.
The sessions are being held at the Ecumenical Centre, 6 Evesham Walk, Redditch B97 4EX.
Anyone who is interested should contact either Home Instead on 01527 810855 or Carers Careline on 01527 66177 and indicate whether they are interested in the morning or afternoon session.
