THE seventies are making a comeback in Alcester next month, with a star-spangled evening of entertainment on offer at St Benedict’s Catholic High School.
The fun comes from Sincerely ABBA, a tribute to Sweden’s most famous export, who claim to not only look like Agnetha, Björn, Benny, and Anni-Frid, but sound like them too, with hits including Waterloo, Mamma Mia, Gimme Gimme Gimme, and Dancing Queen promising to fill the dance floor.
With a white baby stage piano, full stage lighting, and a wardrobe full of costumes, the group is hoping to transport audience members right back to the decade that taste forgot.
The concert, which takes place on Saturday, February 8 at the school, is being organised through St Benedict’s PTA to raise money for the school, and tickets are £10 each.
There are only limited tickets remaining, so anyone interested should send a request, with a cheque for the full amount made payable to St Benedict’s Association, along with their name, address, and contact details, to Paul Turner, via the school’s office.
People are welcome to dress up for the evening, and refreshments will be available. Doors open from 6.30pm and the show starts at 7pm.
