BIDFORD is one step closer to having a neighbourhood plan after submitting an application to register the parish as a neighbourhood area.

Members of the public will have the chance to take a look at the application before it receives approval, requesting areas to be added or removed from consideration.

Once the neighbourhood area is agreed, local people will be able to put together a neighbourhood plan, with residents, businesses and parish and district councillors coming together to set out how they would like the area to develop in future.

The neighbourhood plan will give Bidford residents greater powers over shaping the development of the community and future local planning policy.

The consultation into the proposed neighbourhood area has already started, with the application and a map available to view at stratford.gov.uk/nplan or at the district council offices in Elizabeth House. They will also be on display in Bidford and Stratford libraries during normal opening hours.

The deadline for the consultation is 5pm on Friday, January 17, 2014 and people can send comments to planning.policy@stratford-dc.gov.uk or Planning Policy, Stratford-on-Avon District Council, Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6HX.
