ORGANISERS of a recent exhibition showcasing Hindu religion and philosophy have expressed their gratitude to the number of visitors they received at Redditch Library.

The exhibition covered everything from yoga and the traditional medicine ayurveda, to ancient architecture, and Indian art, dance and music.

One of the organisers, Ravi Mathur, said: “Our exhibition was a resounding success.

“It was a truly multicultural event, and yoga aficionados and Indophiles from all walks of life attended.

“We've had people who were extremely well read, and have taken interest in seeing, and commenting on the exhibits - including one gentleman who spent a considerable amount of time going over the maths exhibits. One of the attendees even mentioned his 97 year old aunt still does yoga.”

The exhibition culminated in a display of dancing held for local dignitaries including Redditch MP Karen Lumley, West Mercia police and crime commissioner Bill Longmore, former councillor Madge Tillsley MBE, and Councillor Rebecca Blake.
