Buddy benches to be installed at two Redditch first schools

ARROW Valley East county councillors Juliet Brunner and Gay Hopkins have worked with Where Next Association, along with Matchborough and Moons Moat first schools, to devise an innovative plan to help friendships flourish.

‘Buddy benches’ have been commissioned for the two schools and are being produced by Where Next Association, which hopes to deliver them in the next few weeks.

Buddy benches are the newest attempt to promote inclusion and develop friendships in first schools by encouraging youngsters to sit and chat to each other.

Councillor Brunner said: “It’s a win-win situation for us all. Not only do our young people get a buddy bench to support friendships, we also get the opportunity to support the fantastic work of Where Next."

Councillor Gay Hopkins said: “It was delightful to see the children on the buddy bench when we visited. They are a huge hit. I'm grateful to Where Next which is doing a fantastic job manufacturing the benches.”

And Matchborough headteacher Jackie Harris added: “These benches will further encourage all our children to sit and chat to each other and encourage new friendships. Already they are doing just that.”

I see councillor Juliet Bruner has been busy spending more of her community fund ,despite telling us 6months ago that she had spent all of her £10,000 if I was a parent who's child went to school in the arrow valley east ward churchill matchborough and winyates schools I would be very angry with her ,as she has no money for life saving defrillulators in her schools but can find plenty of money for pot plants ,breakfast clubs ,and now "friendship benches " children's life's are being put at risk her priorities are wrong!

So only your right and all the others who want something are wrong there are others in this world who think Juliet has done a good job.
Why shouldn't these kids have something fun
My daughter thinks the bench is great

Hats off to Juliet.

This is a better press release than "Councillor finds beer bottle under twigs" or

Nobody is saying she shouldn't of spent the money just that her priorities she says she supports defribs in schools, and told us she had spent all her fund yet if you check the councils website it is clear she still had funds when she said she hadn't ! That is the point I'm making ! If she doesn't want to use her fund then she should be honest enough to say so !

Everyone has their pet cause including the kids surely they should have a choice in what they want? Or is want you want more important than everyone else's wishes?
