A CAMPAIGN aimed at promoting the virtues of healthy living is underway.
Sainsburys pharmacy, on the Abbey Trading Centre, will be offering a number of free health checks and advice and support on healthy living.
As part of the campaign, NHS Blood and Transplant is also urging people to donate blood.
There will be information in store about donating, how to sign up and on set days there will be staff to promote it.
It is part of the health authority’s drive to recruit 100,000 new donors nationally in 100 days.
Shailesh Mistry, from NHS Blood and Transplant, said: "We're very grateful to Sainsburys pharmacy and MP Karen Lumley for helping us to promote blood donation.
"We will be enrolling new donors on February 8, 14, 22 and 24 so why not pop in and sign up?
"Each donation can potentially save up to three lives so by becoming a blood donor you really can make a difference."
