HEADS were turned in Studley on Saturday, December 8 by a giant inflatable nativity scene outside Studley Methodist Church.
The nine foot high novelty was there to draw attention to the crib festival taking place inside the church.
A total of 40 different nativity scenes were being exhibited, the smallest being only two inches high. There were hand-carved scenes in wood, three knitted scenes in wool, two musical boxes and others made from a variety of materials, including card, porcelain, metal, glass and soapstone.
Figures in native costume appeared in scenes from Argentina, Chile, Haiti, Bangladesh, Canada and France.
Visitors were impressed by the variety of interpretations of the Christmas story and it is hoped to repeat the event next year.
