West Mercia Police welcomed its first Police and Crime Commissioner earlier this month, and our blogger Abbey Hartley has been to talk to the force's Chief Constable David Shaw about the new role.
As one of commissioner Bill Longmore's tasks is to monitor the performance of the top cop and his force, Abbey, who is in her second year as a media and communication student at Birmingham City University, questioned Mr Shaw on the kind of relationshop the two men will have.
Mr Shaw said: "I will have a great relationship with him. The main objective we share is that we deliver the best policing that we can. We look after the public. We deter criminals. We catch criminals.”
