A YOUNG man has serious injuries after a road collision on the A448 Bromsgrove Highway, in Redditch, earlier this morning.
The incident took place on the carriageway heading from Redditch to Bromsgrove, near the Headless Cross turning, at 6.10am.
Two fire engines from Redditch and one from Bromsgrove attended, along with police and paramedics.
Emergency services arrived to find a car had left the road, travelled a distance through the air and landed in a tree.
A fire service spokesman said it took two-and-a-half hours to remove the young driver from the car and he was taken by air ambulance to hospital with what is believed to be severe leg and hip injuries.
The road is currently closed and traffic is being redirected.
