THE National Vintage Fishing Tackle Fair will take place on Sunday, November 18 at Kingsley Sports Centre in Redditch.

The fair is the country's largest and most popular vintage tackle fair of its kind with dealers and collectors taking over 40 stalls consisting of up to 120 tables of vintage fishing tackle and books for sale.

The fair will also stage the launch of the eagerly anticipated 'Hooked on Floats (Vintage and Antique Fishing Floats From 1860 to 1960 - A Collectors Companion)' an exhaustive angling and collectors' reference work written and compiled by the country's most obsessive float collector, Jeff Della Mura.

The book consists of 77,000 words on the subject of fishing floats across 400 pages, illustrated with legions of unique photographs and images of fishing floats including many previously unseen and rare patterns.

Hooked on Floats is a celebration of the item of kit which above anything else is symbolic of the angler and their pursuit.  It is limited to 340 standard copies and 60 limited editions which are expected to sell out at the fair.

The author Jeff Della Mura will be in attendance to sign copies.

Visitors to the fair may also have fishing tackle valued for sale or insurance purposes by the fair's sponsor, Neil Freeman of Angling Auctions.

Those with tackle to sell who do not wish to take a stall may bring their tackle to the fair and sell it directly to the dealers in the hall.
