A STORY of ephemeral memory is being staged by Ledbury Amateur Dramatic Society.
LADS will perform Dancing at Lughnasa by Brian Friel at the Market Theatre, Ledbury, later this month.
Set in the summer of 1936, the play follows five unmarried sisters, bound by tradition, poverty and religion. Their lives change when repressed passions and hazy memories begin to surface.
The play, loosely based on Friel’s mother and aunts, was originally performed in Dublin in 1990. It transferred to London's National Theatre in 1991 where it won the Olivier Award for Play of the Year.
For tickets to see it at the Market Theatre, priced £8 and £4 for students, call Ledbury Tourist Information Centre on 01531 636147.
The show runs from Thursday, October 28 to Saturday, October 30.
