AN animal centre in Wolverley is opening its gates this Halloween for a spooktacular evening of dog-friendly activities.

For the first time, Wolverley Animal Centre's Halloween event will be welcoming visitors' four-legged friends for a dog fancy dress contest judged by a local trainer on Saturday, October 26. 

There will also be a fancy dress contest for two-legged guests, Bark-Ology dog training with a demonstration from Roo the goat, 'face your fears' animal encounters, a witch hunt and zombie trail, entertainment from Anthony Arnold, snow tubing, pumpkin carving, tractor rides and craft stalls.

Snake Island Exotics will be bringing reptiles for visitors to meet and Heart of England Ferret Association will also be in attendance.

This is the 4th annual Halloween event at Wolverley CE Secondary School and the event will be the first time members of the public are able to meet the animal centre's resident meerkats, Lucky and Marvin.

Entry for 'Howl-oween Night' costs £5 for children, including a pumpkin, £3 for adults and dogs enter free.

The event will take place from 4pm until 8pm. 

There are prizes for the children who find and collect all eight ingredients for the witch's potion.

Refreshments will be available.
