COLIN Munro has admitted his spell with Worcestershire was “an awesome experience” and he is keen to return for another spell at New Road should the club decide they want his services.

The New Zealander played in all 12 of Worcestershire’s NatWest T20 Blast group matches – two were rained off – and the quarter-final defeat at Surrey, as well as finishing as their second highest scorer behind skipper Daryl Mitchell.

The hard-hitting batsman then linked up with the Blacks Caps ‘A’ squad and was back at New Road or the victory over England Lions before returning home in readiness for the birth of his first child.

But Munro enjoyed his spell with Worcestershire so much that he would willing repeat the experience if the county decide to go down that route.

Munro said: “It was amazing really. Playing just one and sometimes two games a week was pretty hard but they gave me good facilities to train and the boys in the dressing room and the management staff were awesome.

“They took me in really well and I felt part of the team and it was quite emotional to leave because I felt part of the team.

“It took only two or three days before someone gave me a bit of banter in the changing room. I just took it and gave it back as much.

“They enjoy that side of things and I’ve made some really good friendships with a lot of people and I’ve taken those away with me.

“It was an awesome experience and something I’m looking forward to maybe in the future as well.”

He added: “Would I like to come back one day? Obviously. The lads showed what they can do and if we can stick together for another year, I think we can go onto bigger and better things.

“Depending on New Zealand stuff, I’d be available but it depends on what the club wants.

“They are going to go up a division so I’m not sure what they are looking for in terms of that but I’d love to come back for some T20 and even some one-day cricket as well. It depends what the club wants. “As regards his contribution with Worcestershire, Munro said: “I would have liked a few more runs – but in my first year over here as a pro I did okay.

“I’m just looking forward to coming back next year or whenever they want me to come back.

“I really enjoyed my time in Worcester and even the crowd took to me as one of their own.”
