Why is Riley’s Fish Shack one of the UK’s best beach cafes?

The publisher explained: “After ‘starting life as a ‘street-food (bicycle) stall', Riley's, run by a husband-and-wife team, is now housed in ‘two customised shipping containers’ on King Edward's Bay, ‘overlooking the frothy waves’, said The Telegraph, where ‘glimpses of dolphins’ are a possibility.

“‘Seasonal seafood is the deal,’ said The Good Food Guide, and the menu and service times ‘often depend on the catch’.

“Wood-fired sourdough wraps are ‘a fixture’, while ‘pasty-like chilli-fish empanadas’ are another favourite.

“And if the weather's less than wonderful ‘they will also sell you a blanket to use and take home.’”

The seafood spot was also recently recommended as one of Britain’s best places for brunch by The Times.

Elsewhere, Riley’s Fish Shack has a whopping 1,677 reviews and an impressive 4.5/5 rating on Tripadvisor.

One visitor wrote: “The food here is so good!! The best thing we got was the crispy halibut! Would highly recommend! Had a really nice ambiance and if it’s cold you can sit inside by the fire!!”

Another said: “This was our second time at Riley’s Fish Shack and it felt just as amazing as our first visit. The location is utterly amazing, especially as the sunsets and it gets darker.
