REDDITCH United fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat at neighbours Alvechurch after Joshua Dugmore’s wonder strike.
Former Reds boss Tim Flowers claimed the points in the Southern League Premier Division Central derby last Saturday at Lye Meadow.
The first effort fell to Redditch's Nick Clayton-Phillips which was deflected just wide.
Church's Dan Sweeney pounced upon a mistake from Dexter Dudley-Toole at the back before his effort rolled across goal and out for a throw-in.
The Reds were forced into an early substitution as Clayton-Phillips was brought off with a back injury and replaced by Joel Shambrook.
Sweeney attempted an ambitious effort from 30 yards but it was no test for keeper Ollie Taylor as it dipped over the bar.
The sides entered half-time without any real clear-cut chances.
In the 57th minute Matt Clarke's side came close when Ryan Boothe received the ball inside the box before Anthony Dwyer put it back across the goalmouth but no one was there to meet it.
They then squandered a huge chance when Dwyer was released on the break.
The ball was met by Josh Esen on the edge of the area but the hosts eventually dealt with the danger.
Boothe and George Burroughs were replaced by Tyrell Skeen-Hamilton and Brad Burton for the visitors.
Church substitute Dugmore came on in the 77th minute and carried the ball down the right before firing into the top corner from range to give his side the lead.
Esen’s corner was whipped in and eventually met with a volley by Morgan Owen but keeper Ronnie Hollingshead was able to hold easily.
Skeen-Hamilton got in behind late on but his low cross was cleared by Krystian Pearce before it could reach Dwyer.
The referee eventually blew for full-time to confirm another defeat for Redditch who slipped closer towards the relegation zone.
They next face title-chasing Bedford Town at the Valley Stadium on Saturday (3pm) where everyone can attend for free and there will be a host of activities for all the family.
The Reds, who lost 2-0 at Stamford in the league last week, then host Coventry City in the Birmingham FA Senior Cup quarter-finals next Monday (7.45pm).
Meanwhile, after Tuesday's home game with Bromsgrove Sporting (7.45pm), Alvechurch go to Stamford in the league on Saturday (3pm).
They then entertain Kettering Town next Tuesday (7.45pm).
