REDDITCH United were held to a 0-0 draw by Royston Town at the Valley Stadium in Southern League Premier Division Central.
Boss Matt Clarke made one change as Tyrell Skeen-Hamilton enjoyed his first start since returning to replace the injured Ryan Boothe in the Southern League Premier Division Central fixture.
The teams held a minute’s silence prior to kick-off in memory of lifelong supporter Colin Bennett.
Redditch were first to create any danger but the referee waved away a claim for handball in the penalty area.
Then the ball fell to Adam Murray on the edge of the area but the Royston skipper struck his effort over.
At the other end Anthony Dwyer shrugged off Murray and crossed low to Skeen-Hamilton who was inches away from the final touch at the near post.
Redditch looked more threatening as the game went on and in a bright start to the second half Josh Esen chested down the ball for Nick Clayton-Phillips but his first-time effort rolled just wide.
Jack Kelly’s free-kick fell to Skeen-Hamilton who had an effort saved by Jamie Head.
Captain Kyle Rowley was forced off with injury after an awkward landing on his back to be replaced by debutant Dexter Dudley-Toole.
There were chances at both ends as Clayton-Phillips drove forward on the break but his effort was blocked.
Royston charged down the other end and Murray’s header was just over.
Redditch carried the momentum at the end as substitute Marvellous Onabirekhanlen won the ball back high up before working it to Aurio Teixeira whose shot was held.
Dwyer then followed up with another saved effort as United were forced to share the points.
The Reds, who lost 2-1 at Spalding United the previous weekend, visit Stamford on Tuesday (7.45pm) before going to Alvechurch in the league on Saturday (3pm).
Left-footed centre-half Dudley-Toole, 20, has been plying his trade with neighbours Studley and impressed with Halesowen Town under 21s previously.
He also played for Halesowen's first team and on loan with Bewdley Town before spells with Gresley Rovers, AFC Wulfrunians and most recently Studley.
Meanwhile, Alvechurch lost 1-0 at title-chasing Bedford Town in Premier Division Central last Saturday.
They visit Kettering Town on Tuesday (7.45pm) before the game with Redditch and then welcome Bromsgrove Sporting next Tuesday (7.45pm).
Church have signed teenage defender Taylor Dodd on loan from Birmingham City.
