Studley remained top of the table with a hard fought victory over a much improved Abington side.

Studley started the stronger and scored on 12 mins when a deep corner was headed back into the danger zone by Welsh and Ben Birch was first to react slotting home from 6 yards.

Abington grew into the game and although they won their fare share of the ball they were unable to penetrate Studley’s back four.

Studley however were penetrating the Abington back four but a combination of poor finishing and good goalkeeping by Midwinter in the Abington goal kept the score at 1-0 as half time approached.

Indeed on the stroke of half time Conor Ferguson cut inside his marker and found the top corner of the net with a fine finish so an equaliser.

So all square at half time. The second half began with Studley seemingly in a more determined mood and started to dominate the ball, however Abington were by no means out of the game.

#Studley continued to miss chances as the half wore on but on 65 minutes Dan Carter found the bottom corner of the net with the help of a desperate attempt by an Abington defender to clear but helped the ball into the goal.

Studley continued to miss chances and good goalkeeping meant another goal never came.

This almost came back to bite Studley when Nat Robinson for Abington struck the bar with a free kick from 18 yards.

Studley did however see the game out for a 2-1 victory and picked up the points to continue their fine run going.
