Studley FC returned  to the top of the table after a hard fought victory against a good Hereford Pegasus side.
With the manager and one or two players missing due to Covid, the Bees were very quick out of the blocks and scored the only goal of the game on three minutes when Sam Jackson got on the end of a Dale Edwards cross.
The game became a middle of the park battle in the first half and although devoid of any goalmouth action was entertaining to watch.
The second half began with Hereford keen at address the balance but could not find the way past a very resolute Studley defence and Studley always looked dangerous when going forward.
Jake Bloomer was unlucky on the hour when his shot was pushed onto the post by Davies in the Hereford goal.
Hereford had a glorious chance to equalise on 80 minutes but Hopkins blasted over when well placed.
As Hereford committed more men forward they were leaving gaps at the back and Studley had chances which they could not convert.
Studley return to the top of the table on goal difference with one game in hand.
They are next in action against Abbington Town on January 22.
