WASPS are rumoured to be interested in offering former fly-half and current Worcester Warriors' player Billy Searle a route back to The Ricoh Arena this summer.

The 25-year-old is under contract until 2023 after signing for the club ahead of this current campaign but The Rugby Paper suggests he has an option in his contract that enables him to be released.

Wasps have just lost Lima Sopoaga to French Top 14 side Lyon in the summer and boss Lee Blackett is now looking for options as competition for Jacob Umaga.

With Duncan Weir off in the summer, Warriors are already a man light at 10 and head coach Jonathan Thomas will be very keen to keep Searle, whom he has previously worked with at Bristol.

The Rugby Paper are also reporting that backs coach Matt Sherratt is leaving this summer to join up with Cardiff Blues, as has also been suggested by Wales Online earlier this week.

Sherratt has been with the club since last summer after enjoying spells with the Blues and also with Warren Gatland in the international setup.

Names that are being put forward include Ed Robinson and ex-Gloucester coach Rory Teague, whilst current assistant coach Mark Jones could be promoted to the role.

Jonathan Thomas was asked about Sherratt's future on Tuesday but refused to comment on "speculation".
