FORMER Worcester winger Bryce Heem will return to his Auckland home and play for Super Rugby side The Blues in the 2021 season, it was confirmed last night.

Heem left French club Toulon at the start of the year for 'personal reasons' as it was heavily reported he wanted to go back home to New Zealand and last night The Blues confirmed the Warriors' fans' favourite has filled the final spot on their roster for the 2021 Sky Super Rugby Aotearoa competition.

Worcester signed Heem at the back end of 2015 and became an instant hit, going on to score 32 tries in 70 appearances for Warriors, before securing a move to French giants Toulon in 2019.

But with a young family, the French club granted him an early release from his contract in order for him to go back home to Auckland.

The Blues head coach Leon MacDonald said:

"“Bryce is a quality player and a quality bloke who has been an excellent overseas professional in Europe. He will be invaluable asset for us this season.

“He played centre and wing for us at Tasman and was superb both on and off the field. His Sevens background means his work rate is excellent and he’s very quick and a big body. His recent form in France was impressive.”
