WORCESTER City FC has confirmed that Mike Davis has stood down from the football club board of directors after a two year stint with the club. 

Despite his departure, Davis will continue his role as a board member of the Supporters' Trust.

City released a statement on their website this morning, saying: "Over the years, Mike has contributed countless hours of his time towards the betterment of the football club.

"The board would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Mike for all of his hard work." 

Life-long City fan and businessman Nick Jones has taken his place on the football club board and will begin his role imminently. 

Jones will be tasked with contributing to the existing work on building revenue streams and further helping to embed the club in the Worcester community.

Jones has a wealth of business and marketing experience as well as a background in coaching.

The statement read: "Nick brings significant experience in marketing, sales, finance and legal after a career as the owner/founder of several SME businesses in the Financial Services/Employee Benefit sector."

"In addition, Nick heralds experience from within athletics having being involved in the running of competitive clubs in the South East and as a coach.

"The football club board warmly welcome Nick onboard."
