ROUSLERS boss Bren Kelly saw his side crush Evesham United to cruise into the final of the Worcestershire Senior Cup - then declared: "that's one for the fans."

More than 100 avid supporters made the trip to United on Monday night as a Charlie Dowd hat-trick and further goals from Rich Gregory, Mikey Taylor and Shaq McDonald eased them to an emphatic 6-0 win.

It came on the back of a huge 1-0 victory at Banbury United in the league last Saturday - when in the region of 250 fans made the journey to cheer the team on.

And Kelly was quick to praise the dedication of his side's support.

He said: "We want to dedicate the cup win to the fans - they have been unbelievable and it's great that we have now given them a cup final to look forward to.

"Two away games in three days is not easy on the pocket, so to have our fans turn out in such numbers is incredible."

Sporting will now return to Evesham's Jubilee Stadium on Thursday April 16 for the Worcestershire Senior Cup final, where they will meet either Bewdley Town, Kidderminster Harriers or Alvechurch.

Saturday's win over Banbury left Kelly disgruntled after the home side reacted to Sporting playing music to celebrate their win in the dressing room by turning the power supply off!

He said: "They didn't like us celebrating the win, but what side doesn't celebrate a victory?

"They turned off the power so we just decided to have a singsong instead!"

Next up for Sporting is a home Southern Premier Central Division clash with sixth from bottom Lowestoft Town on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) - and Kelly is again calling on supporters to turn out in their droves.

He said: "There's no better way to get the people of the town to turn out and support us than back-to-back way wins.

"We're hoping for another big attendance Saturday - their help and support is vital to us, and hugely appreciated."
