LOOSEHEAD prop Ethan Waller is set to face a disciplinary hearing tomorrow following his sending off in Worcester Warriors’ defeat at Dragons.

Waller was red carded by referee Ludovic Cayre for a high tackle on Dragons flanker Cory Hill on the 71st minute of the European Challenge Cup clash last Friday.

A statement from European Professional Club Rugby said Waller was dismissed for “striking” Hill “with his shoulder in a dangerous manner in contravention of Law 9.12”.

Waller will now appear before a three-person independent discipline committee in London tomorrow morning.

If he is found guilty, the entry point for a lower end offence of this nature is a two-week ban.

It is six weeks if it is found to be mid-range and 10 to 52 weeks at the top end.

Speaking immediately after the match fly-half Duncan Weir felt Waller’s tackle was a “legal, clean shot”. But director of rugby Alan Solomons refused to comment on Waller’s red card.

“It’s subject to a disciplinary hearing and that must now take its course,” Solomons said.

“There should be no comment prior to that taking place.”
