LIVE: Worcester City v Lye Town

Our live feed has now finished.

  • FT: City 6 (Lockett 12, 23, Brain 43, 69, Adaggio 67, Willis 78) Lye 0
  • RUTHLESS Worcester City made it 15 goals without reply in two matches with a 6-0 beating of Lye Town.
  • City started from where they left off with Liam Lockett’s brace followed by a double for Sean Brain and goals for substitutes Marco Adaggio and Josh Willis.
  • It was men against boys at times with City turning on the style in flashes on a bitterly cold night at the Victoria Ground.
  • Lockett was gifted the opener in the 12th minute, nodding Brain’s cross into the empty net after keeper Josh Raden had misjudged his near-post collection.
  • City maintained the pressure and it told midway through the first half with Chris Withington releasing Brain to lay off to Lockett on his left to fire a dipping, swinging shot from the corner of the box that Raden had no hope of stopping.
  • Dan Okojie’s clearance found Brain on the halfway line to lead Sam Tye a merry dance and coolly tuck in two minutes before half-time and the one-way traffic continued after the interval.
  • Adaggio, on for the injured Demetri Brown in the 32nd minute, showed off his backflip celebration having pinched a harmlessly-looking low cross from the left off Jake Heath’s toe before tucking in.
  • Lye looked demoralised and conceded a second inside three minutes when Brain waltzed through effortlessly before peeling to the right and firing a crisp shot across Raden.
  • Brain was involved again in the sixth, holding up and laying off for Luke English’s dash outside before taking the ball on the right of the box and while his effort was saved by Raden, Willis was on hand to slam into the roof of the net from an acute angle at the far post.
  • City could have had more with Raden getting a bit of luck to deny Brain and Adaggio in quick succession, while Lye defender Joe Colley made an early exit having been sin binned with six minutes of the 90 remaining.
