WORCESTER Futsal Club put on their first home event in the sport's equivalent of the Premier League.

ThePoint4, Hereford, hosted the action in the new National Futsal Series Tier One.

Club technical director James McHugh said: "The event was a huge success with more than 250 people in attendance throughout the day.

"We also had eight teams and lots of local young players as the mascots from Worcester and Hereford institutions.

"We played Pro Futsal, who are the favourites to win the league, and unfortunately lost 4-2.

"However, the performance was very encouraging against one of the best teams in the country in futsal.

"The scorers for Worcester were Chris Bright and Dean Withers."
