BROMSGROVE boss Bren Kelly has labelled his side’s defeat against Nuneaton as “pathetic”.

Sporting lost 3-1 at the Victoria Ground despite leading early in the game through Tom Taylor’s close-range strike.

The defeat was all the more frustrating as the Rouslers failed to find the consistency needed to back up last week’s brilliant win over league leaders Hednesford.

Kelly pulled no punches after the game as he questioned the mindset of his players.

He said: “I’d say it was pathetic. To a man they were better and they wanted it more, which is concerning.

“They worked harder and we weren’t at the races at all.

“Decision making was poor, we gave the ball away a lot, there was no togetherness and I’m really disappointed.

“To go from the highs of Tuesday night and to put in a performance like that baffles me really.

“It didn’t look like one of my teams out there today because they just accepted it and didn’t even put up a fight.

“It was similar to what happened against Banbury here and that’s concerning because I didn’t think that would happen again, but it has today.

“I think it was more mentality and mindset that lost us the game today and when you’re not sharp in the mind then your body follows.

“I’ll reflect now because we’ve got a game Tuesday, so I’ll do my talking with team selection and squad selection.”
