How they rated:

Bromsgrove 1, Nuneaton 3

Breeden: Couldn’t do much to prevent any of the three goals but his decision making on his distribution was a little erratic at times. 6.

Rankin: Given a tough time by Alex Henshall and Callum Powell as Borough found too much time and space out wide. 5.

Wilson: He worked hard all afternoon and played the ball out neatly at times but another who struggled against the direct running of Powell. 5.

Hayward: The energy levels were there as he snapped into challenges in midfield but too often he was crowded out as Sporting struggled to get their passing game going. 6.

T. Taylor: Solid early on and gave his side a great start as he fired home after Greg Mills’ early corner. Found it difficult against seasoned Luke Benbow as the game drew on though. 6.5.

Lincoln: Outmuscled on a few occasions by Benbow and never really settled as the forward’s influence grew. 5.

Mills: Started really brightly out on the left and was his side’s main early threat. He drifted out of the game too easily and struggled in the second half to have a prolonged impact, much like the team in general. 5.

Quaynor: Good work ethic in the first half but struggled as Isaiah Osbourne took control in the engine room. So often he gets his side on the front foot but Sporting’s fluency with the ball at feet just wasn’t there. 6.

M. Taylor: Bromsgrove’s biggest threat came when they fed the ball to his feet in and around the box. A big danger in the first half and turned his man on a number of occasions. Should have done better in first-half injury time when firing into the side netting. 7.

Gregory: Struggled to have an impact as he dropped deep looking for the ball. 5.

Shorrock: Good work-rate out wide but another who drifted out of it as the contest wore on and Borough forced their way on top. 6.

Subs: Dowd: Lively cameo off direct running with the ball at feet but the final pass let him down after getting into decent positions. 5.5.

McDonald: Added a bit more impetus up front and tested Wright with a couple of dipping efforts. 6.

Unused subs: Hull, Brown, Massey.
