BOSS Bren Kelly is ready to unleash his Bromsgrove Sporting players on the Southern League Central.

The manager at the Victoria Ground is also determined to stick to the attacking style that saw the side secure a historic promotion last term.

The Rouslers will kick off the new campaign when Biggleswade visit this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

They go into the curtain raiser in fine spirits after a 3-0 success over AFC Dunstable last weekend. They ended their pre-season programme with a win thanks to a double from Shaquille McDonald and a strike from John Pykett.

Kelly is now looking forward to seeing his side pit themselves at a higher level.

He said: "It's very exciting for the club and a historic occasion that we're all looking forward to.

"Our mindset is to do well and and win every game. We won't be changing the way we approach things.

"We'll have to tweak and few things from time to time but the fans can expect much the same from us. We aren't going to change our DNA now.

"Being new to the league means I'm not going to be setting any targets at this stage but it's just about seeing how we do in the opening 10 games.

"I know we're a good squad and have players that are very capable of playing at this level.

"Continuity is key and we were able to keep a lot of our players together over the summer. We identified that we just needed a bit more experience because the average age of the squad was around 23. But we addressed that over the summer and are now in a good position.

"The players know each other's games and the new players have hopefully taken on board what we want from them.

"Hopefully it'll be a packed Victoria Ground and we can get off to a good start."

On the Dunstable win, he added: "It was certainly our most complete performance of pre-season, so it was pleasing that it came in the last game before the season starts.

"We really looked our normal selves and were a lot more fluent. It was also the first time we've really had everyone available."

Will Shorrock, Leon Broadhurst, Tom Taylor and Shaquille McDonald will have injuries assessed ahead of the big kick-off.
