Ex-Worcestershire coach Steve Rhodes has left his position with the Bangladesh national team halfway through a two-year contract.

The news comes after Bangladesh’s disappointing Cricket World Cup campaign saw them finish eighth in the ten team table, winning just three of their nine matches.

Rhodes ended his 33-year association with Worcestershire as player and coach in December 2017 and took over the Bangladesh national side in June last year.

His two-year contract had been due to take him up to next year’s World T20 but Rhodes and the Bangladesh Cricket Board have agreed to end his deal prematurely.

The contract of bowling coach, ex-West Indies star Courtney Walsh, has not been extended.
