CENTRE Francois Venter has been cleared to play in Worcester Warriors’ curtain-closing Gallagher Premiership clash with Saracens at Sixways on Saturday (4pm).

But director of rugby Alan Solomons will have to wait to see whether wing Perry Humphreys and tighthead props Nick Schonert and Gareth Milasinovich are also given the thumbs up to face the recently-crowned European Champions Cup winners.

The quartet all suffered blows to the head in the 38-10 defeat at Northampton Saints two weeks ago.

“I am hoping that everyone will be available to play,” Solomons said.

“Francois has been 100 per cent cleared to play and I am hoping that the other three will be fine too.

“Having a two-week turnaround has helped.”

Solomons felt Warriors hit a “perfect storm” at Saints with Humphreys, Venter and Schonert going off and Francois Hougaard seeing yellow all within the first 30 minutes.

“It was like everything came to together at the same time,” Solomons said.

“A yellow card – during which time two tires were scored – and three permanent HIA removals.

“We also came off the back of a six-day turnaround and two massive games which took both an emotional and physical toll.

“You have got to give Northampton credit.

“They had a slightly longer turnaround, it was their last game at home and they played really well.

“All those factors came together at the same time but it was disappointing.”

Solomons is now hoping his tenth-placed side can overcome the frustration of the away defeat and finish the season on the “right note”.

Saracens may look to rest players in preparation for the end-of-season play-offs after producing an impressive display to beat Leinster in last Saturday’s European Champions Cup final.

But Solomons reckons the London club are capable of beating Worcester without their star men.

“They won the Premiership Shield on Monday night convincingly at Newcastle so they have got fantastic strength in depth,” Solomons added.

“They are a really powerful club.

“Against Exeter they had a lot of their front-line players missing.

“But I thought that was a terrific performance by them (to beat Chiefs 38-7).”
