WING Josh Adams insists he has got “no doubt” Worcester Warriors can win their final five Gallagher Premiership fixtures to beat the drop.

Second-from-bottom Warriors boosted their survival hopes on Saturday with a 27-25 triumph over Bristol Bears at Ashton Gate.

But basement club Newcastle Falcons’ win over Sale Sharks – their third on the spin – leaves Worcester just three points above Dean Richards’ side who sit on 29 points.

With Leicester Tigers (34) and Bears (36) also involved in the relegation scrap it is set to be thrilling climax to the season.

Warriors head to the Ricoh Arena on April 6 to face eighth-placed Wasps (37) before hosting Sale Sharks on April 13 and Gloucester on April 28.

They will then travel to Franklin’s Gardens on May 4 to tackle Northampton Saints before going up against reigning champions Saracens at Sixways on May 18.

“I have got no doubt that this group of players can win every game from now onwards,” said Adams who will join Cardiff Blues in the summer.

“I have got total belief that we are good enough to do that so that’s obviously the aim.

“We have got Wasps away next and then Sale and Gloucester at home before going up to Northampton and finishing at home to Sarries.

“They are winnable games.

“It’s hard to target a league position or a points tally because I don’t know how things are going to unfold.

“But we have got to build from this win and take massive confidence from how we have played.”

Adams scored Warriors’ third try at Bristol after Ted Hill and Ben Te’o crossed in the first half.

But they were unable to secure the bonus point as Duncan Weir was ruled out a try by the TMO after coming agonisingly short of touching the base of the post.

“Duncan’s effort at the beginning of the second half was judged to have been knocked on,” Adams said.

“But from where I was standing it looked to be a try. If the referee thinks it’s a knock-on then that’s his decision and we have got to get on with it.

“But it would have been nice to have got one more score to get the bonus point considering the way we were going in the first half.”

Adams praised Warriors’ “outstanding” defence to shut out Bristol after Te’o was sin-binned for offside in the closing 10 minutes.

The Wales star also hailed the performance of his fellow countryman Sam Lewis whose last-ditch tackle on Dan Thomas after Andy Uren’s break in the dying seconds clinched victory for Warriors. “We all working really hard for each other,” Adams said.

“You could see that when somebody made half a break there was about three or four guys running across to make that tackle which I think won us the game.”

On Uren’s last-gasp burst for the try-line, Adams said: “When you get the ball to the back of the scrum you usually think it is safe and we can carry on with whatever play we have got going.

“But in fairness to (Uren) he has seen the ball pop out, picked it up and must have shrugged off one or two tackles.

“I was thinking ‘Oh no, not now’ after all the hard work we had put in.

“But our scramble defence to get back was outstanding.

“I think Sammy Lewis made that tackle at the end.

“Dan Thomas was juggling the ball and Sam hit him from behind so he spilled the ball and that gave us the scrum on our five-metre line which we eventually secured and kicked the ball out to win.

“Massive credit to Sam. He was outstanding again.”

Adams added: “This season Bristol have shown how good they can be with ball in hand.

“They have got a really nice attacking shape and do put teams under pressure.

“I think our work at the breakdown was really good, we competed really hard and tried to give them slow ball so they couldn’t get into that shape as quickly as they like. At times I think we did that and got some good rewards.”
