STUDLEY find themselves stuck in the awkward position of going three weeks without a game.

Following their 1-0 defeat to Uttoxeter Town on March 2, Studley must now wait until March 23 for their next fixture at home to Stapenhill.

Frustrated Studley boss John Edwards admitted: “It’s isn’t ideal, in fact it isn’t good at all.

“It was only five or six weeks ago that we had to go through another fortnight without a game.

“I know there’s an odd number of 19 teams in the league this season after Smithswood pulled out, but I’ve no idea why we’re not playing this week.

“We’re still training twice a week, but it becomes difficult to motivate the players when there’s no game on Saturday. The last thing I want is for the season to fizzle out.

“I feel particularly sorry for recent signing Connor Doyle who has joined us from Coleshill Town, simply because he wanted to get games.

“What we didn’t realise was that he’d played a couple of games for Wolves Sporting Community at the start of the season, which meant we had to serve them with seven days notice.

“Wolves Sporting dragged their heels a bit, which meant Connor finished up missing a further week."
